REINZ represents real estate and property management professionals across New Zealand. Our Members are committed to delivering the best possible services and upholding the highest standards of practice that are open, ethical and honest.

REINZ Members agree to support this objective by abiding by the REINZ principles in all their dealings with clients, customers, other REINZ Members and members of the industry.

REINZ is not the industry regulator. Our members must abide by the rules set out by the REA and the Residential Tenancies Act. They must also follow the REINZ Codes of Practice as a condition of their membership.

Agency

The Agency Code of Practice governs the conduct of Members who are owners or officers of companies conducting real estate businesses, including businesses offering real estate sales services, property management, body corporate management, valuation or any other associated real estate services

Individual Membership

The Code of Individual Membership covers the individual conduct of all Individual Members and all persons engaged in an Agency Member’s business. All Agency Members will ensure their business is conducted in line with the principles and intentions of the Code. And they, and those engaged in their businesses, must always act per the Code of Individual Membership.

Residential Property Management

The Residential Property Management Code of Practice governs the conduct of Agency Members of REINZ and their property managers, letting agents and other employees and/or contractors undertaking residential property management and letting services

REINZ Affiliated Salesperson

The Code of Practice for REINZ Affiliated Individual Salesperson covers the individual conduct of Affiliated Individual Salesperson engaged in an Agency Member's business. All Agency Members will ensure their business is conducted in line with the principles and intentions of the Code. And they, and those engaged in their businesses, must always act per the Code of Practice for REINZ Affiliated Individual Salesperson.

REINZ Affiliated Property Manager

The Code of Practice for REINZ Affiliated Individual Property Managers covers the individual conduct of Affiliated Individual Property Managers engaged in an Agency Member's business. All Agency Members will ensure their business is conducted in line with the principles and intentions of the Code. And they, and those engaged in their businesses, must always act per the Code of Practice for REINZ Affiliated Individual Property Managers.

REINZ Sector Group

REINZ currently has five Sector Groups, whose members meet regularly and are in regular contact with each other on pertinent issues relating to their sector. The current Sector Groups are Auction, Residential Property Management, Rural, Business Broker and Commercial & Industrial. The REINZ Sector Groups Role Description and Code of Practice sets out the scope of role of Sector Group members and governs the conduct of the Sector Group members.

REINZ Ambassadors

REINZ undertakes its functions on a national, regional and district level. There are 5 separate regions and 13 districts. Each district has one or more designated REINZ Ambassadors, who work closely with the REINZ Regional Director responsible for the Ambassadors’ district. The REINZ Ambassadors Role Description and Code of Practice sets out the scope of role of REINZ Ambassadors and governs the conduct of the Ambassadors.
