Leading property auctioneers, from across Australasia, have descended on Auckland New Zealand to compete at this Trans-Tasman event to battle for the right to call themselves the ultimate Australasian Auctioneering Champion.
REINZ Chief Executive Jen Baird said, “This year, REINZ is thrilled to be hosting the AUSTROS. The event will be taking place over three days starting today.”
Baird went on to say, “Auctioneering has become fundamental part of the real estate process on both sides of the Tasman. In the theatre of the auction room or onsite. Auctioneers make this sale process look simple, but it’s complex and fast moving, and auctioneering skills at the level on show in Auckland this week take years to hone. We are excited to host what we reckon are the best auctioneers on the planet.”
The AUSTROS is an annual event celebrating the best auctioneers in Australia and New Zealand. Conducted jointly by the Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) and the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ), the Championships have become the most prestigious event on the Australasian Auctioneering calendar.
REINZ and the Real Estate Institutes for each Australian state and territory, arrange and hold their own competition to find their best two auctioneers. These auctioneers then go in to compete in the AUSTROS. Hosting of the competition is rotated around the different Australian states and territories, with New Zealand hosting the event once every four years.
