Tonight, the five finalists went head-to-head hoping to be crowned the best auctioneer in Australasia.
A hearty
congratulations to Ned Allison from Grenadier Real Estate Ltd in Christchurch, New Zealand!
The AUSTROS is an annual event celebrating the best auctioneers in Australia and New Zealand. Conducted jointly by the Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) and the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ), the Championships have become the most prestigious event on the Australasian Auctioneering calendar.
REINZ and the Real Estate Institutes for each Australian state and territory, hold their own competition to find their best two auctioneers. These auctioneers then go in to compete in the AUSTROS. Hosting of the competition is rotated around the different Australian states and territories, with New Zealand hosting the event once every four years.
This year, REINZ had the honour of hosting the AUSTROS at Q Theatre in Auckland, New Zealand.

Ned Allison from Grenadier Real Estate Ltd in Christchurch was crowned Australasia’s top Auctioneer for AUSTROS 2023.
REINZ Chief Executive Jen Baird said, “It has been an amazing couple of days here at the Q Theatre. The Auctioneers went all out and did the real estate profession proud. Today we saw why these contestants are considered world-class auctioneers. The competition was tight but in the end, Ned Allison came out on top. Warmest congratulations to you Ned. You are a shining example of auctioneering excellence. You set the bar sky high and have done the real estate profession on both sides of the Tasman proud.”
Ned Allison entered the ring with the four other finalists, Luke Banitsiotis from Woodards in Victoria, Australia, Alec Brown from Ray White Canberra in Australian Capital territory, Australia, Mark McGoldrick from Harcourts South Island in Christchurch, New Zealand and Clarence White from Menck White Auctioneers in New South Wales, Australia. Each contestant gave it their all and showed the true spirit of auctioneering excellence.
It was a wonderful event, followed by an awesome awards dinner, celebrating the auctioneers and the real estate industry as a whole.
